BTC scholars Aimé Kakudji Kyungu (°1970) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Trinh Hai Le (°1976) from Vietnam successfully participate in the Belgian Development Cooperation Prize 2012.

BTC scholar Aimé Kakudji Kyungu (°1970) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo is a laureate of the Belgian Development Cooperation Prize 2012 in the Researcher category. M. Kakudji is a doctor in Social and Political Sciences (ULB). The title of his research paper was 'Sendwe Mining', Socio-anthropology of the Social World at the Lubumbashi Hospital (DR Congo).

Trinh Hai Le, another BTC scholar (Vietnam, °1976), was nominated for the 2012 Belgian Development Cooperation Prize in the Researcher category. The title of his research paper was : Health and Environment : core aspects of sustainable development in the province of Quang Tri (Vietnam). M. Hai Le is doctor in human ecology (VUB).

The Prize Belgian Development Cooperation was created in 1998 on the initiative of the Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGD) in order to raise public awareness concerning international solidarity. The Prize is financed by the Belgian Development Cooperation.

The purpose of this prize of encouragement is to invite young people from the North and the South at a decisive moment of their lives to take an interest in international cooperation, and to stay committed after completing their studies. The Prize is aimed at students and young scientists.
