Vietnam Sea and Island Week and World Ocean Day

In response to major environmental events in May and June, from May 15, 2022 to June 15, 2022, activities of Vietnam Sea and Islands Week and World Oceans Day 2022 nationwide will be simultaneously organized.

On April 29, 2022, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Official Letter No. 2261/BTNMT-TCBHĐVN on organizing activities to respond to Vietnam Sea and Islands Week (from June 1st to June 8th). ) and World Oceans Day 2022 (June 8th).

In response to Vietnam Seas and Islands Week and World Oceans Day 2022, from May 15, 2022 to June 15, 2022, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology has issued the Document No. 871/VHL-VP that requires units under VAST to participate and organize practical activities, such as:

-    Propagating the Party's viewpoints and undertakings, the State's policies and laws, and international law on seas and islands; Vietnam's lawful and legitimate rights and interests at sea; position, role and importance of seas, islands and oceans; marine and island resources and environment, sustainable development of the marine economy.
-    Propaganda on the purpose and meaning of the theme of Vietnam Seas and Islands Week and World Oceans Day, focusing on practical activities that spread awareness to the community. Hang banners, panels, posters at the headquarters of the units (encouraging the use of environmentally friendly materials).
-   Organizing seminars, conferences and seminars on the management, exploitation and use of natural resources and environmental protection of sea and islands towards sustainable development and unified management, serving economic development - society, ensuring national defense and security.
